Dr. Seuss Fun

This week we did an author's study of Dr. Seuss.  We started the week on Monday by reading a biography of Dr. Seuss to learn more about him.

On Tuesday we read, The Cat in the Hat.

After we finished reading the story students brainstormed what they would like to do with the Cat in the Hat if he came to their house.  They then used their ideas to create a list.  On Wednesday we did a directed drawing of the Cat in the Hat.  Their projects turned out great!

The projects look great displayed on the big bulletin board in our classroom!

On Thursday we read my favorite Dr. Seuss book, Green Eggs and Ham.

Students worked hard to create writing projects that showed where they would eat green eggs and ham.

Here's a few of the projects students created.

On Friday we all enjoyed watching the movie of Dr. Seuss' story Horton Hears a Who.  We discussed the important lesson Horton teaches that "A person's a person no matter how small!"

During the movie we enjoyed a special treat of goldfish and juice boxes.  The goldfish reminded us of Dr. Seuss' One Fish, Two Fish, Red Fish, Blue Fish.
