100th Day of Kindergarten & "I Moustache You a Question"

Thursday was the 100th day of kindergarten!  Students were greeted in the morning by some special door decorations!

A class photo celebrating 100 days of hard work!

Students spent time on Thursday morning reflecting on everything they have learned in our first 100 days of school.

They also had a chance to share their collections of 100 things.  Some of the collections included: Legos, beans, Cheerios, crayons, pencils, marshmallows, marbles, macaroni, M&Ms, beads, popcorn, and popsicle sticks.

We spent the afternoon celebrating with all of Brimhall kindergarten.  Students rotated through all five kindergarten classrooms.  In Mrs. Albert's classroom students had a chance to use a water dropper guess how full a cup would get with 100 drops in it.  In Mrs. Kong's room they made 100th day hats.  In Ms. Tyrer's classroom students rolled dice to make 100 tallies.

In our classroom students used 100 stickers to make 100 glasses.

And in Mrs. Showalter's classroom students built using 100 of many different materials, including: Legos, blocks, tiles, dominoes, cups, and cubes.

On Friday we learned all about question words including: who, what, where, when, and why.  In the morning we did a fun activity using paper moustaches.  Students walked around the classroom with their moustaches saying to each other, "I Moustache You a Question," and then practiced asking each other questions.

Friday after we then practiced writing questions using each of our new question words.
